Case Study
Think Pink
Think Pink was assigned as a beverage label. I was in the finishing stages of a digital drawing at the time, so I decided to use it in my logo design. The pink hair stood out, so I knew that the beverage should match and the fun began.
The original character was winking with one bright pink eye open, and I really liked the name “Pink Eye”. I thought that it would catch the attention of teens and the original beverage was intended to either be a soda or an energy drink. The name was not well-received by other age groups, so the name was changed to “Think Pink” for the assignment. “Pink Wink” was also considered, however “Think Pink” seemed to be more popular overall. Various berries were places on the logo as well and the beverage became a berried flavored soda.
As my art evolved, I knew that a new version of the character could be achieved and a more exciting beverage could be created. The newer and more playful character became the face of the beverage and “Think Pink” became a hard seltzer with fun and fruity flavors.
